Copying a deployment share from lab to production environment

You can copy an MDT 2010 deployment share from your lab environment to your production environment, but if you do this you need to make a few changes in the production version afterwards. Specifically:

  1. Change the DeployRoot setting in the bootstrap.ini file.
  2. Change the UserID, UserDomain and UserPassword settings (if used) in the bootstrap.ini file.
  3. Change the domain join settings in the customsettings.ini file if your production and lab networks are in different domains.
  4. Then regenerate your Lite Touch boot images (this must be done whenever you change bootstrap.ini settings).
