If you’re troubleshooting a desktop system on a network where roaming profiles are being used, you may want to temporarily disable roaming profiles on the machine and use a locally cached profile instead. That way when you reboot the machine or log off and on, you won’t end up having the roaming profile overwrite any diagnostic changes you’ve been making to the machine while troubleshooting.
To change from using roaming profiles to a locally cached profile, open System in Control Panel, switch to the Advanced tab, click Settings under User Profiles, click the Change Type button, and click Local Profile.

thank you, however when i do this on Windows 10 pro 1909, even though it appears to work after pressing ok, you can do it again, to see no change is actually being made.
I know that i chose a local profile / account when installing windows, the only real problem is i get an error about “user profile service, roaming profile failed to load, using local instead” ….
my concern is that it may try to delete it again… fortunately i have a backup, and i use system restore, but i would like if windows knows “do not delete” & “Local Profile” & “use this folder”…..
