If you’re an administrator, you probably need to frequently access articles in the Knowledge Base on Microsoft TechNet. The search tool on TechNet is one way to do this, but there’s a faster way if you know the number of the KB article you want to view. Just do the following:
Open Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:
Create the following new subkey:
Under this subkey change the Default value to the following:
Now close Registry Editor and open Internet Explorer. Say you want to quickly get to Knowledge Base article 313348. Here’s what you do–type kb 313348 in the address bar of IE. Presto!
