Quickly Open Network Connections List and Properties in Windows Vista

In Windows Vista it takes more clicks to access the Network Connection Properties of your network adapters as it does in XP. However, if you need to regularly access these details, you can create a shortcut by dragging the desired connection:

  1. Click the network icon in the system tray and open the Network and Sharing Center.
  2. Click the Manage Network Connections link on the left pane.
  3. On the Network Connections window, simply click and drag the connection to the desired spot; on the start menu, desktop, or the taskbar quick tray.

You can alternatively access the Network Connections window by typing ncpa.cpl into the Start Menu search box, or create a shortcut to it.
