Troubleshooting – Can’t install application with UAC enabled

Problem: You are trying to install a certain application on a computer, but the application fails to install.  There is no specific error message or log entry that indicates the problem.  However, you notice that when you disable UAC on the computer, the application installation succeeds.

Resolution: Don’t disable UAC on the computer.  Instead, launch the application’s install program (.msi) from an elevated command prompt.
