Although they are not very common any more, there are still a LOT of them
around. If it is not detected on boot, tell W2K to use legacy PnP mode.
- Right-click My Computer
- Click Properties
- Select Hardware tab
- Expand the Ports (COM & LPT) entry
- Right-click Printer Port (LPT1) entry
- Select Properties
- In the Port Settings tab, select the Enable legacy Plug and Play detection
option
- Reboot
applet. If it still does not work, try the following registry hack:
Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Parallel\Parameters
Name: ParEnableLegacyZip
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1
