Symantec has discovered a Trojan embedded in an Android App. Embedded in an Islamic compass Android application, the Trojan sends spam SMS messages to contacts on the compromised device which are designed to promote revolutionary topics in the Middle East. The malware is only present with the version that is downloaded from third-party locations, however the official version of the application available on the Android Market is clean.
The Arab Spring movement and human rights violations protests may cause you inflated mobile bills if your smartphones end up infected with malware, so take care which and from where you download applications!
