Apple to Support Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync in Its Next Generation iPhone

Burlington, MA, March 10, 2008 – 123Together.com, the leading provider of hosted enterprise-class messaging and collaboration solutions such as hosted Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 and hosted Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 SP1, announced today that it welcomes Apple’s recent announcement of support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync in the beta release of Apple’s iPhone 2.0 software. This new feature enhancement will provide wireless “over-the-air” push email, allowing users to access email, contacts and calendars and enabling IT administrators to remotely “wipe” the device if lost or stolen so data will not get into the wrong hands.123Together.com’s hosted Exchange service provides small and mid-size businesses with immediate enterprise-class messaging and collaboration tools including full support for BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Windows Mobile and Good Messaging Server. Mobile users have anytime, anywhere access to their email which enables them to view calendars, schedule meetings, and access contact data without having to return to the office to synchronize their data.

Although a popular mobile device with consumers, the iPhone has not been widely accepted as a business tool due to its lack of two-way wireless synchronization with Microsoft Exchange Server. With Apple’s licensing of Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, iPhone users will be able to take advantage of the full features and functionality of 123Together.com’s hosted Exchange service with mobile support previously only available to users of BlackBerry, Treo, PocketPC, SmartPhone, and Windows Mobile devices. Apple’s iPhone coupled with 123Together.com’s two-way wireless synchronization with hosted Microsoft Exchange Server will allow executives, sales people and other mobile employees to be in touch with the office no matter where they are, increasing productivity and responsiveness to their colleagues and customers.

“We welcome Apple’s decision to support ActiveSync in the iPhone”, said Ravi Agarwal, chief executive officer of 123Together.com. “This will enable a whole new set of mobile business users to take advantage of Microsoft Exchange as a hosted service and stay connected to their email, calendars and day to day tasks at anytime from any location. This announcement will enable greater implementation of hosted Exchange by iPhone business users as well as increase purchases of iPhones by the mobile workforce.”

iPhone users can take immediate advantage of 123Together.com’s hosted Exchange service to increase corporate productivity and collaboration. Although two-way wireless synchronization will not be widely available on the iPhone until June, users can take immediate advantage of 123Together.com’s hosted Exchange to access their email wirelessly through IMAP in addition to their office PC’s, laptops or from any online device via a web browser.
