New Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) Tool Taps AWS

These days more and more shops are moving to cloud storage. Some of this is to low end offerings like DropBox and OneDrive.

But increasingly the cloud is used for true backup and disaster recovery. One issue this solves is tape. Tape has been a useful technology, but is fraught with peril. Not only is it difficult to manage, but it fails far too often due to corruption, lack of testing or the fragile nature of the media.

Who has the Best Cloud? Gartner Says it Knows

In a recent Gartner report “Critical Capabilities for Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service”, the research house examined 15 Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offerings. The shocking result? Out of four categories, AWS swept three.
The competition were no slouches, but included Microsoft, Google, Rackspace, Verizon, HP, IBM and VMware.
