Casado Leaving VMware

Senior VP Martin Casado has announced that he is leaving VMware. Currently Casado is the head of VMware’s NSX, which is their flavor of network virtualization. It’s an interesting time to move, with EMC and parts of VMware at least, being acquired by Dell. Stock prices have also gone down by almost 50% for VMware during this time, though it was reported that NSX was doing well in the last quarterly announcements.

Casado is going to join VC firm Andreessen Horowitz as a general partner. Considering Casado’s history, this will likely be a great move for him. I plan on following Andressen Horowitz a little more closely, personally speaking.
