Change NT’s Logo Screen

During startup, before logging in to Windows NT, you see the Microsoft NT logo
screen. The default screen logos are kept in the WINNT.BMP
file for workstations and the LANMANNT.BMP for
servers. These are sometimes called splash screens. To display bmp of your
choice:

Hive: HKEY_USERS
Key: .DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
Name: Wallpaper
Type: REG_SZ
Value: C:\BMPDIR\MYLOGO.BMP BMP of your choice

Hive: HKEY_USERS
Key: .DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
Name: TileWallpaper
Type: REG_SZ
Value: 1 Tile
Value: 0 NoTile

The bmp names have changed for Windows 2000. The W2K bitmap is
winnt\system32\n2k.bmp. This tip applies to both Windows 2000 and NT.
