Cisco Empowered Women’s Network

Today I had the honor of being a part of a panel discussion at Cisco Live, PNLEWN-1000. This session was put on by the Cisco Empowered Women’s Network (Cisco EWN) and there was an impressive list of speakers: Rebecca Jacoby (CIO of Cisco), Ana Pinczuk (SVP, Services of Cisco), Denise Donahue (Sr. Solutions Architect of Chesapeake NetCraftsmen), Denise Fishburn (CPOC engineer at Cisco), Rong Pan (Distinguished Engineer at Cisco), and little old me.

We discussed some terrific topics such as choosing between management and tech expert career paths, overcoming anxiety and fear of being an “imposter,” and just how we got to where we are in general. It was an excellent session and we’re already getting great feedback! I’m so impressed with Cisco’s efforts to address diversity in general and women in tech specifically. The video will be available, along with all of the other sessions from Cisco Live 2014. I highly recommend checking it out!
