Dell unveils new PCs optimized for remote work

As IT pros scramble to keep up with the realities and demands of the new remote workforce, many companies are supplying their employees with computers so they can work from home. With that in mind, Dell has unveiled several new PCs across its popular Latitude and Precision lines aimed at helping employees work efficiently and securely from anywhere.

A look at the new Dell PCs

Latitude 9510: A 15-inch business laptop that offers what Dell calls “an enhanced conferencing experience” with powerful built-in speakerphones and microphones and weighing only about 3.1 pounds. It has up to 34 hours of battery life and also comes with built-in 5G-ready design. Dell says the device is “first Project Athena-verified commercial PC with 10th Gen Intel vPro processors.” The Latitude 9510 is starts at $1,899.

Latitude 7410 and 7310: Dell says the 14-inch Latitude 7410 and the 13-inch Latitude 7310 are “designed for balancing performance and portability.” Both are configurable as a 2-in-1, and both start at $1,499.

Precision 5550 and 5750: The 15-inch 5550 and the 17-inch 5750 are designed for users needing both power and high-performance displays, for example, graphic artists and engineers. Dell says they are the world’s smallest and thinnest 15-inch and 17-inch mobile workstations. The Precision 5550 starts at $1,999. The Precision 5750, which is VR/AR and AI-ready to handle fast rendering, detailed visualizations, and complex simulations, will be available early this month, starting at $2,399.

Built-in Dell Optimizer software

Each device comes with built-in Dell Optimizer software that Dell says learns how each person works and helps users “focus on the tasks that matter most” by improving application performance. It also enables faster log-ins and helps to reduce background noise and eliminate those annoying echoes on conference calls, important features for our new work-from-home era.

Dell says its flexible services can help IT pros purchase, deploy, and manage PCs around the world, easing the transition to remote work by “creating ready to work experiences for employees.”
