Some UAG fans were not happy to see the long list of UAG features that either have been deprecated in SP3 or are planned to potentially be removed in subsequent releases. I guess the good news is that it implies that there will be subsequent releases, but we’re talking about some important functionalities here: DirectAccess, remote network access with SSTP or Network Connector, NAP-based endpoint detection and a lot more.
The other good news is that many of these features are now included in the operating system – Windows Server 2012 – and that’s why they aren’t needed in UAG. It does make you wonder whether UAG has much of a future, though.
