Dimension Data to add 300 new data center industry experts

NEW YORK – February 3, 2015 Dimension Data, the $6.7 billion (USD) global ICT services and solutions provider, today announced it will hire additional 300 data center experts throughout the next 18 months. These hiring plans are vital to the group’s ambitions to quadruple its data center business from $1 billion to $4 billion by 2018. In addition, Dimension Data intends to make data center-focused acquisitions to build out skills and drive scale in major growth markets.

Steve Joubert, group executive of Dimension Data’s data center business unit, said the company’s success has always been based on the quality of its people.

“Demand for our next-generation data center skills and services sees Dimension Data growing faster than the market, and we need great people to help us continue this growth,” Joubert said. “As a provider of solutions and services – not an equipment manufacturer – we are dependent on the quality and skills of great people to help us deliver the best service to our clients.”

With recognition and development programs for its teams around the world that help them grow and excel, along with the multinational nature and culture of the company, Dimension Data offers excellent growth opportunities for top performers. What’s also particularly exciting for employees is the fact that, as a member of the NTT Group, Dimension Data has preferential access to all the greatest innovations from the NTT Innovation Institute, Inc. to drive standards around OpenStack, cloud, software-defined networking, cybersecurity and mobility.

Joubert pointed out that Dimension Data continues to make big investments in a number of new consulting and managed and cloud services to enable its clients to work better and faster in the data center.

“This is why we want to hire the best people available in the market: to enable our clients with the best possible solutions and to drive our data center business forward,” he said.

Dimension Data will be recruiting across the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, West and East Africa, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Germany. The group is also building out central teams to focus on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Benelux, as well as France.

“Our clients want to do things differently, and look to us to help them with alternative and innovative delivery and consumption approaches,” Joubert continued. “With NTT’s backing, we’re in a strong position to disrupt the market with our value proposition, footprint and people, and take market share.”

Globally, Dimension Data has been recognized as an employer of choice and, throughout the past few years, been awarded Top Employers Institute certifications in a number of countries. Most recently, the group was recognized as one of the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in the United States.
