If you use the Network Map feature in Vista, you may have noticed it doesn’t work when the network connection is classified as Public, or you're using a domain network. However, you can enable it for either of these networks; here’s how:
- Run gpedit.msc from the Start menu search field.
- On the Group Policy Object Editor, browse to: Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> Link-Layer Topology Discovery.
- Individually right click the Mapper I/O (LLTDIO) and Responder (RSPNDR) drivers and click Properties. Then on their Properties dialog check the appropriate options to allow public and/or domain connections.
