Exchange Server Protocols Documentation–May 2012

Microsoft release the latest version of the Exchange Server Protocols Documentation:

  • Exchange Server Protocols Documentation –  The Microsoft Exchange protocol documentation provides detailed technical specifications for the Microsoft protocols and extensions to industry-standard and other published protocols that are implemented and used by Microsoft Exchange.
The documentation is designed to describe each protocol in detail as it is used by Microsoft Exchange. Each specification documents technical requirements, limitations, dependencies, and specific protocol behavior.
The documentation includes companion overview and reference documents that supplement the technical specifications with conceptual background information, overviews of inter-protocol relationships and interactions, and technical reference information.
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and Outlook 2010 Standards Documentation – The Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and Outlook 2010 Standards documentation is intended for use in conjunction with publicly available standard specifications and network programming art, and assumes that the reader either is familiar with the aforementioned material or has immediate access to it. A protocol specification does not require the use of Microsoft programming tools or programming environments in order for you to develop an implementation. If you have access to Microsoft programming tools and environments you are free to take advantage of them.
