It is always recommended to download software, especially mobile devices apps from trusted and authorized markets. In case of mobile apps trusted official sites mean Google Play, Amazon and a couple of other reliable sources. However, Kaspersky Lab researchers have recently discovered fake mobile apps with malicious intent available for free on Google Play. Google was fast to remove these apps from its store upon being notified by Kaspersky but does this solve the problem? It surely brings up the question – is Google’s verification process of uploaded apps adequate? Surely not!
