Find out whether your LinkedIn password was compromised

Yesterday we reported on the massive leak of LinkedIn passwords (in hashed form) on a Russian web site and urged you to change your password there. Today there is a tool that you can use to find out whether yours was one of the 6.5 million passwords that were published, using a tool called LeakedIn that hashes your password on the client and checks the hash against those leaked on the Russian site. The incident hasn’t gone unnoticed in Washington, D.C., with some legislators seeing it as a reason to pass more laws governing security of user data. This issue is sure to heat up even more as we put more and more of our data in the cloud.
