A new start-up company called CrowdStrike founded by the ex-head of FBI’s cyber-crime unit is pioneering a confrontational approach to cyber security. It identifies hackers and uses their own techniques to prevent theft. CrowdStrike is based on a new business model for cyber security, one that identifies sophisticated foreign attackers trying to steal U.S. intellectual property and uses the attackers’ own techniques and vulnerabilities to thwart them.
