The V-Index site has only been up and running for a few months and is going to be updated quarterly with some key metrics regarding virtualization. One of the metrics – consolidation ratio – surprised me. In the one V-Index report, the average reported consolidation ratio was 6:1 in the U.S. while the perceived average was just over 11:1. Why the discrepancy? Are there a lot of organizations out there with very low consolidation ratios that are throwing the metrics or is the consolidation ratio really this low?
In your organization, what is the consolidation ratio? Where I work, are are around 14:1.
