How to use the push installation method to install a MOM 2005 agent on an ISA Server 2004 computer

MOM 2005 is a great way to keep track of your ISA 2006 Firewall but installing the MOM client agent isn’t the most straightforward process. The reason, of course, is that the ISA Firewall is very particular about what traffic is allowed to reach the ISA Firewall. Remember, the ISA Firewall was designed as a enterprise level network firewall, so its a firewall first, second and last. You can’t turn off the firewall nor would you want to.

However, that does make it a bit complicated to get the MOM agent installed and working correctly on the ISA Firewall. I spent a couple of hours trying to figure this out for myself, but finally turned to the Web to find an answer. Guess what? I should have checked the Web in the first place 🙂
