Installing Language Interface Packs using MDT 2010

Language Interface Packs (LIPs) provide localized resources for commonly used UI elements in Windows and can be considered a kind of localized “skin” which can be applied to a Windows computer.  For more information on LIPs, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/goglobal/ee461121.aspx.

If you try to add a LIP as a package to MDT 2010 to install the LIP as part of a Windows 7 deployment, it won’t work.  However, you can install the LIP by adding it as an application to your MDT deployment share.  You need to use the LPKSETUP command line syntax found at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd799270(WS.10).aspx to do this.
