Marriott Tries to Block Guest’s Personal Access Points

Recently Marriott, the hotel chain, tried to get the FCC to change it’s laws against blocking personal access points (like your phone or other personal wireless device that lets you browse the internet from your computer/tablet, etc.). Marriott claims this is to uphold security for guests in their hotels as well as make sure Marriott’s guest wireless maintains good performance. Both arguments are pretty laughable. This seems to me like a way for the hotel chain to continue gouging it’s guests on wireless prices (sometimes around $20 a day!).
