Message Analyzer in ExRCA

The great Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer tool just got even better. It now includes a brand new Message Analyzer which makes the task of reading e-mail headers much, much easier.

These headers contain very useful information that allows administrators to determine the origins of an e-mail and how it made its way through one or more SMTP servers to its final destination. To use the new Message Analyzer, all you need to do is copy message headers from a message, paste them in the Message Analyzer tab on the RCA web site and press Analyze headers:

This tool will allow you to:

  • View the most important properties and total delivery time at a quick glance;
  • Analyze display the longest delays for easy discovery of sources of message transfer delays;
  • Sort all headers by header name or value;
  • Quickly collapse the sections that you do not need.

Note that all processing is done in your browser and no private information is shared with Microsoft.

There are other similar tools out there like the one from MX Toolbox but this is, nonetheless, a great edition to this already fantastic tool.
