More malware using social networks to reach victims!

The major social networking platform Facebook is infected once more after last November’s outbreak! The Ramnit worm hijacked some 45,000 user accounts on Facebook which presumably can lead the attackers to more sensitive accounts of users that happen to use the same email address and password all over the web. This includes users’ credentials that can lead the attackers to remote access to corporate networks.

Ramnit is known as a powerful worm in the banking sector and was able to defeat two-factor authentication systems used by financial institutions. Facebook has already initiated a mitigation plan for all affected users and urge users to report any suspicious activity or links they encounter on Facebook
