Security researcher Joshua Long reported that there are more than 120 vulnerabilities in the older version of Safari that runs on pre-Lion and Windows systems, so using that browser puts the systems at risk from malicious web sites.

Meanwhile, the last security update for Snow Leopard was shipping in May, and according to IDG, users of that OS don’t know whether Apple has stopped supporting it altogether since the company hasn’t put its OS support policy in writing:
