OpenStack is a cloud orchestration tool which can enable companies to provide public clouds, utilize hybrid clouds, or create private clouds within their own companies. OpenStack is open source and made up of several projects. The oldest of these projects is the compute project called Nova.
Nova allows you to provision instances, whether these instances are virtual machines, containers, or physical machines. Instances come in different flavors like small, medium, large, and extra large.
