Here I am at the end of day two at the OpenStack Summit in Vancouver. Most of my day is spent hanging out with the vBrownBag gang, but I did get the chance to see Subbu Allamaraju of ebay as one of the keynote speakers today. I also was lucky enough to participate with him in an Engineers Unplugged Episode yesterday.
Subbu has made it clear that OpenStack is not just for experimentation anymore. He told us how Ebay and Paypal are currently running a lot of their production on OpenStack with multiple hypervisors. They're litterally running thousands of VMs that are allowing the ecommerce site and payment site to progress quickly into the day and age of automation and orchestration. Check out the keynote on the OpenStack Summit site.
