Programmability in NX-OS

A few months back I wrote about a book sprint I was a part of for Operating Cisco ACI. Cisco ran another book sprint recently and we’re now reaping the rewards in a book called Programmability and Automation with Cisco Open NX-OS. This book describes how to use Cisco’s open Nexus Operating System to control Nexus switches, especially Nexus 9000 switches, programmatically. You’ll learn how to use XML and JSON, as well as Python and some of the newer declarative languages such as Ansible to program your network.

The ebook is available for free on GitHub at the link above. There are also some hard copies that I might be able to get for folks. If you’re interested, reach out to me on Twitter @Malhoit.
