IT departments spend a great deal of time and money on security. It’s a necessity in today’s hyper-connected world where hackers and attackers seem to lurk around every corner and both external and internal threats put your irreplaceable data at risk. But some simple measures can give you a great deal of “bang for the buck,” without breaking the bank. According to a study just released by BeyondTrust, which analyzed all new security vulnerabilities published in the 100+ security bulletins Microsoft issued in 2010, simply removing administrative rights from user accounts will mitigate about three fourths of the critical vulnerabilities.
