The shortage of people skilled in IT security might seem like a good thing on the personal level if you're one of the precious few and you're looking for a job. It might not seem as great after you get that job and you're overworked because there's not enough personnel to do all the work. And certainly the shortage does bode well on a larger scale, as it means many of the nation's and world's systems are not properly secured.
