It’s been more than a decade since Bill Gates predicted the demise of the username/password method for accessing computers, networks and digital resources, and it’s finally beginning to come to “pass.” (Pun intended).
One of the things I love about my Surface Pro 4 is Windows Hello, which allows me to bypass the need to type in a password or PIN. I can simply touch my finger to the fingerprint reader or just look at the screen, which recognizes my face and logs me in.
Now Google is getting on the no-password bandwagon. They’re currently testing a technology that lets you authenticate to your Google account by responding to a notification on your smart phone. Read more about this here:
