Don’t miss this TechNet webcast: Protecting Server Data with Data Protection Manager 2010!

Starts: Tuesday, June 21, 2011 9:30 AM
Time zone: (GMT-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada)
Duration: 60 Minutes

As our global infrastructure grows, there is a need for effective data backup in both the client and server spaces. Microsoft IT uses Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2010 to protect client and server data. For server data, we started rolling out Data Protection Manager at Microsoft with Data Protection Manager 2006. With Data Protection Manager 2007, we significantly reduced the time, effort, and system resources necessary to help protect Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft SharePoint Server. As of April 2011, all 4,000 Microsoft servers have Data Protection Manager 2010, which has enabled us to see increased benefits.

Presenter: Gordon Patchell, Microsoft IT Service Manager, Microsoft Corporation
Gordon Patchell is currently the service owner for the Microsoft IT Corporate Backup service, supporting data protection to approximately 4,000 servers worldwide, including protection of domain controllers, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP, and Source Depot. For the past eight years he has worked in various operations, project management, engineering, and service management roles at Microsoft.
