During the the earlier betas we reported that it looked like we might not have to deal with multiple versions of the TMG firewall. There was all sorts of goodness connected to this position and we were pretty optimistic at the time. Unfortunately, business realities made it hard to make this possible, so we’re going to continue with the SE/EE split we’re used to seeing with the ISA firewalls of the past.
So what are the differences between the SE and EE TMG firewall?
Check out this chart:
As you can see, there are some significant functionality differences between EE and SE. If you want the following, you’re going to need EE:
- Multi-server array
- More than four processors (I assume they mean processor cores)
- Support for CSS configuration storage
- Enterprise management console
- Stirling integration
- NLB support
- CARP support
