BASH is the default shell on most Linux computers as well as Apple’s OS X for Mac. A new and critical vulnerability in the shell code could have far-reaching security implications, due to the number of Linux web servers and the “Internet of Things” devices that run Linux and are not generally as regularly updated as traditional computers are.
