Xen becomes a part of the Linux Foundation Collaborative Project.

The majority of public cloud revenue in the world comes from the open-source Xen hypervisor (Amazon Web Services and Rackspace use Xen).  As the trend to low-power ARM processors becomes more and more prevalent, Xen will become even a more integral part of the infrastructure.

Therefore, Xen has now become a Linux Foundation Collaborative Project.  This move will have positive implications for Citrix XenServer as well.  The following technology leaders are aligned in advancing the Xen Project initiative in the Cloud Era: Amazon Web Services, AMD, Bromium, Calxeda, CA Technologies, Cisco, Citrix, Google, Intel, Oracle, Samsung and Verizon.
