The Xtreme Minute: Can collaboration tools fake it till they make it?

Welcome to the Xtreme Minute for Friday, Nov. 2. This is our weekly rundown of the TechGenix Xtreme Podcast with Louise Chalupiak, and this week we welcome TechGenix’ editor-in-chief and general manager Tamar Weinberg as our co-host.

We start with an article by Mitch Tulloch titled, Windows 10 upgrade mystery: Where’d my disk space go? Once again the most recently released version of Windows 10 is causing tech support a bit of a headache. While the issue of Windows 10 eating up disk space is not a new one, it is still a frustrating issue. Mitch offers up information on four tools that will help to quickly identify the offending files.

Next up is Rahul Sharma with Filling your talent pool: A ‘how-to’ guide for IT companies. Rahul presents some helpful advice to IT companies. While we often read or hear the phrase that resumes will be kept on file for future opportunities, companies do not seem to acknowledge or understand the value of past candidates that were previously unsuccessful.

Wrapping up the podcast we have Twain Taylor with his article titled Enterprise collaboration battle royale: Facebook vs. Microsoft vs. Slack. Facebook and Microsoft might be the better-known household names, but are they the bigger competition with respect to collaboration? We also wonder about the re-emergence of voice. The enterprise does not seem to have missed voice much at all, but has the absence of emotion been a detriment to collaboration?
