Xtreme Podcast: Here comes the next tech apocalypse — or nonevent

Welcome to our weekly installment of the Xtreme Minute! This is our weekly rundown of the TechGenix Xtreme Podcast with Louise Chalupiak and Peter King with links to the weeks hot tech topics along with additional TechGenix content.

We start off with an article from Mitch Tulloch titled, Doomsday clock? How GPS rollover might affect your network infrastructure. If you have recently marked April 6 on your calendar, you may be too late! We truly hope that this won’t be the next Y2K, but the GPS rollover is a very real risk. Don’t let it become an issue. Time to check that your software is up to date!

Next up is an article from Amy Babinchak titled, 5 Windows 10 features you probably don’t know about – But should! If you are anything like me, you use the same software options day after day and hope for the same results! From increased clipboard capacity to ransomware protection, there are so many tools we don’t know about that can increase our productivity. Thank goodness for people like Amy who do the research and summarize these amazing and easily accessible tools.

It’s not like we need more things to be extra cautious about, but in our final article from Brien Posey titled, Move over, photoshop: How AI fakes are the next-generation forgery, we learn that this may just be the beginning. A not-so-subtle reminder that while the enterprise can educate us, we all need to take responsibility for our own cyber-safety, and this may mean taking a “fake until proven” stance.
