Want to get a quick look at all the new and cool stuff in the TMG Beta 2 firewall? Adrian does a great job in describing the new features, and it’s fun to read his commentary.
It’s quite clear that Check Point and ASA are going to have a fight on their hands when it comes to competing with the TMG firewall. With the new TMG’s security features, and its native 64 bit design, so-called “hardware” devices have the potential to be woefully underpowered compared to the TMG firewall. Even more important, we’ll be able to virtualize the TMG firewall, which greatly expands our deployment options in an increasingly virtualized datacenter.
