Well it is almost cliche now, but we have another "Month of Bugs" coming up. It is no great shock that there are tons of problems with software and other components such as ActiveX. The only real surprise is that it has suddenly become popular to point out the many flaws out there in the code. There are many reasons for this. One of the main factors are market forces. A great deal of pressure is often exerted upon developers by the company to have a product released by a certain date. Quite often the only way to do this is to cut back on quality assurance (QA). Much as people love to quote the SLDC, too often corners are cut to bring a product to market on time. The end result? Seriously flawed code.
