Azure Security Center Puts Microsoft in the Lead for Cloud Security

Security is always an important issue but often doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Unfortunately, it’s getting a lot of attention recently because of the massive security failures we’ve been seeing in the industry in the last few years. Some people blame cloud computing because of its shared nature and perceived overexposure. While I don’t believe that recent high profile security failures are due to cloud computing, it’s clear that some people with loud voices due, and the industry has to do something about it.

It’s up to the big cloud computing players to step up and help us prevent security configuration and management issues from taking down our companies. It looks like Microsoft Azure is going to take the lead in this area with their Azure Security Center. From what they say, Azure Security Center will help protect against attacks, detect attacks that are being attempted and have taken place and also respond to attacks by mitigating the damage or preventing them from being completed.
