Can quantum computing be the key to a much safer power grid?

The ever increasing trend of Cyber-attacks targeting the energy sector has triggered much attention by security vendors to protect power grids with innovation security solutions. For instance, GridCOM Technologies is developing a new tool based on quantum physics that could protect the grid from digital security attacks. The Californian start-up, GridCOM, plans to show just how quantum encryption could be a nearly fail-proof shield against cyber security breaches.
