Cisco at VMworld Europe 2015

VMworld Europe is next week, and Cisco will be there in full force. We’ll have a presence in the Solutions Exchange as always, as well as some breakout sessions. Check out these sessions:

  • Cisco UCS as the Foundation for Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) – Tjerk Bijlsma, Technology Officer, Cisco Systems, Inc.
  • Networking: Virtual SANs Backbone – John Kennedy, Senior Marketing Engineer, Cisco and Bhumik Patel, Partner Architect, Global Strategic Alliances, VMware

Cisco is sponsoring the vRockstar party put on my Marco Broeken (@mbroeken) and Patrick Redknap (@PatrickRedknap). This is the biggest community party at VMworld Europe. I’ve never been before, but if it’s anything like the VMunderground party at VMworld US then I’m really looking forward to attending. We’re also sponsoring Spousetivities, which is a great program that engages the spouses of folks attending VMworld while attendees are at the conference.

I’m also a part of the vBrownBag crew, so I’m really looking forward to the Tech Talks this year. If you’d like to see the schedule check out this link. There are going to be a ton of great talks and Cisco is always proud to sponsor vBrownBag and the work they do.  Joe Ezerski will be giving a Tech Talk on usingNexus 9000 Series switches as the best option for your underlay network.

Nexus 9000 switches of course offer terrific features such as programmability with NX-API, built in Puppet agents, POAP, PXE, and so much more. Ezerski will talk all about that, but also the importance of 40G architecture in the network. Since servers are now shipping with 10G we need 40G uplinks to efficiently manage traffic. Even 100G networking is becoming more prevalent and perhaps even required in some environments. The Nexus 9000 can provide all of that and offers it at a price customers like.

If you’re planning on being at VMworld Europe this year come see our booth, breakout sessions, and Joe Ezerski’s vBrownBag Tech Talk on Tuesday at 3:30pm local time. If you can’t make it and want to watch it live, tune into vBrownBag.com. The recording will also be available a few days later on vBrownBag’sYouTube channel. If you’re interested in participating in a Cisco Whisper Suite to talk to Joe Ezerski or Frank D’Agostino about Nexus 9000 or ACI you can schedule a time by emailing Shilpa Grandhi or Nicole Rivas. You can also reach out to me if you want to talk about Nexus 9000s or Application Centric Infrastructure. I’m @malhoit on Twitter and I’ll be there all week!
