I attended Citrix Synergy this year in Barcelona, Spain. One of the cool things I saw announced was the next phase of Project Avalon – code named Project Excalibur. Basically, Project Avalon is the merger of several acquisitions Citrix has made that allows enterprises to build and run their desktop/app delivery environments like public clouds. Lots of automation, and self-service. The Excalibur release features advancements in simplicity, scalability and rich multi-media services needed to deliver Windows apps and desktops to millions of new consumer style mobile devices.
