Citrix HDX Ready System on a Chip

During Citrix Synergy in Barcelona, Citrix announced the HDX Ready System on a Chip (SoC) initiative. The basic idea behind SoC is to build high performance, low power, and low cost devices that can achieve HDX certification. Inside the chip, there is an ARM processor, 3D accelerator, multimedia encoders/decoders, DMA, USB controller, pretty much everything you need on a computer. Only memory and storage are external to the device.

So, basically, this HDX SoC initiative brings high-performance multimedia to thin client type devices. Since this is built on top of ARM processor architecture, it will be interesting to see what type of form factors become available if this catches on.
