Citrix XenApp Service offers new hybrid cloud solution

Citrix just announced the release of a new hybrid cloud solution called Citrix XenApp Service. This new offering is meant to help enterprises deliver a variety of different types of applications to end users and manage resources across channels from one centralized dashboard, even if you’re not ready to make the full switch to the cloud just yet.

The service offers some interesting new features along with the standard options and capabilities that users have come to expect from other Citrix offerings. Here’s a bit more about Citrix XenApp Service.

About Citrix XenApp Service

The solution basically secures the delivery of Windows, Linux, web, and SaaS applications to any device from anywhere. It also gives you the ability to manage both your on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based infrastructure from one centralized control console. You can choose the best workload deployment option for your particular cloud strategy and then migrate your resources to the cloud when you decide that you’re ready to make that jump.

Features of XenApp Service

In addition to the features that people have come to know and expect from other Citrix solutions, XenApp Service also includes advanced abilities including remote access, geo-expansion, and disaster recovery. Remote access gives your whole team the ability to securely sign into their applications from any device. Geo-expansion lets you quickly provide access to the applications your end users need. And disaster recovery allows IT administrators to manage and route traffic in the most efficient way possible even when there’s a storm or outage that might otherwise lead to service interruptions.

XenApp Service is available for enterprise customers now on an annual contract basis. The cost is $20 per user or device per month, though some distributors may also offer special discounts. You must have at least 25 users in your organization in order to sign up. And a minimum term of one year is also required.
