Compromised game servers may serve as amplifiers in DDoS attacks

A Distributed Denial of Service technique may leverage vulnerabilities in game servers running First Person Shooter games. The technique is based on sending a fake message to these servers and redirects the reply to a target machine. The amplified replies from various sources would result in a multi-Gbps DDoS attack.
