Some months ago I wrote about backing up Exchange with Data Protection Manager. As I told you then, the current version of DPM doesn’t support backing up Exchange directly, so the solution is to use the 2-step backup approach.
Last week, Microsoft revealed some more details about the next version of DPM. As expected there are some good news about supporting Exchange backups:
“DPM version 2 extends the recovery-centric design of DPM 2006 to Microsoft Exchange Server, SQL Server and SharePoint Portal Server and enhances its file server protection capability.”
