Dell announces the vStart 50

I’ve previously written about Dell’s vStart 100 and 200 “infrastructure in a box” solution that is somewhat akin to the VCE Coalitions Vblock concept. In both, organizations simply buy preconfigured units of infrastructure, taking the guesswork out of purchasing decisions and streamlining the implementation and support processes.

Dell recently announced a mini version of their vStart platform. Dubbed the vStart 50, this entry is intended for the SMB market that may not have a need for the scalability options and additional cost that come along with the vStart 100. This bundle comes in two flavors. The vStart 50m is a solution based on Hyper-V while the vStart 50v is based on VMware, providing an important option for customers.

It’s official: I want one of these for my home lab!
